Wingra time

the 70 + weather on Saturday allowed for a few first casts into Wingra. Went to the usual favorite spot; a small swipe of the lake between the shore and a weed bed, affectionately known as "Bluegill Cove". A few bites, went through a dozen nite crawlers, but didn't land any yet. The season is started, and just one day in a long season ahead!

final four without the Wisconsin Badgers. I can't believe it's been over ten years since that last great run. I love Bo Ryan and the success we've had, but it's time to get to that next level, we know he can coach, is it the recruits coming in these days? Seems like the team is getting less multi demensional and too predictable.

politics ruining my scene man.

The recent political situation here in town has really disrupted my spring training buzz. I need to start getting back to baseball. This political stuff is becoming toxic and emotional draining, I tend to stay involved as I can be, but balance it with some good old fashioned baseball optimism.

SUPERBOWL VICTORY AT LAST!

After 14 years of waiting, the Vince Lombardi trophy is coming home! This time around was quite different than the Super Bowl runs in the 90s. This years' team got hot at the right time and worked their way thru the playoffs. The teams of the '90's built up anticipation over a three year span starting in '94, and sealed the deal finall Jan. 26th 1997. After that, despite a repeat to the big game in the winter of '98, there was a slow settling down into playoff mediocrity. The teams from 1998 produced some competitive seasons, but until now, evaded the ultimate proze. It was a great game day filled with excellent food, and lots of friends. It's still sinking in that the Pack is indeed back. Looks like it's gonna be a short winter, after another week, next week, of Packer orientated celebratory activities, the Brewers will be in full swing at spring training.
